It's a tough question b/c one is pressed to think of what might be better: you could say NPR, but NPR is more style than substance. Listen to the people who call in as opposed to the guests, and one wonders if radio itself can be a deliberative, educational medium. So the final question is: What do you want media to achieve in terms of discourse?

Hardly. Folks stay on the radio because of advertisers and if no one wants to buy ads on the liberal shows too bad.
