The trouble with "The American Promise" isn't that Senator Obama gave a bad speech - his speech was very good and very inspiring. Which is all the more reason he should have taken the time to attack the best Republican arguments, not create straw-men and spend more time talking about new programs than an actual change in orientation.

If you haven't read the original post, please do. People who know me offline know that I listen and ask questions more than speak; the need to elaborate on Senator Obama's speech was vital one in this era of politics as pure showmanship.
